Comcast said on Friday that two “separate and unrelated” fiber cuts in its network backbone providers were to blame for a major national outage as the company worked to restore service.
“We identified 2 unrelated fiber cuts to our network backbone providers,” Comcast said in a statement posted to Twitter. “Our engineers are restoring services to business & residential internet, tv & voice customers. Apologies to those affected.”
