During the 72nd Tony Awards on Sunday night, actor Robert De Niro appeared on stage to present an award when he went into a vulgar speech about President Donald Trump.
In the United States, the profanity he used was censored, but it was not on foreign stations, according to Fox News .
“I’m going to say one thing: F**k Trump,” he stated on stage. “It’s no longer ‘down with Trump,’ it’s ‘f**k Trump.’”
The audience erupted with applause and rose to its feet to give De Niro a standing ovation.
During the National Board of Review Awards in January, the actor said, “This f**king idiot is the president. […] The guy is a f**king fool!”
As he was giving a speech at the Fulfillment Fund in March, De Niro called Trump an “idiot.”
“Look at our president. He made it through the University of Pennsylvania, so he was exposed to a quality education, but he’s still an idiot,” he said. “And he lacks any sense of humanity or compassion.”
De Niro’s comments are the latest in a long line of criticism against Trump.
