A shooting has been reported at the building of Capital Gazette, a newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland, that’s owned by The Baltimore Sun.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives tweeted a little after 3 p.m. ET that it was responding to a shooting incident at the newspaper’s location.
Phil Davis, a Gazette reporter, reportedly told The Baltimore Sun that multiple people were shot.
“We’re doing everything we can to get people out safe and we’re trying to minimize the casualties,” Lt. Ryan Frashure, a spokesman for Anne Arundel County Police, told reporters.
Police also did a “precautionary sweep” of The Baltimore Sun’s newsroom, according to a reporter there.
