Why are all those fans camping out overnight at the Comic-Con International in San Diego? A glimpse of pop culture magic.
And Hall H at the San Diego Convention Center is the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for movies and television. Studios all over bring teases and trailers to show off and get an immediate reaction to from the fans in attendance. Often, those brave souls that pack into Hall H are the only eyes that get to witness things shown in the room. Fans sitting at home will often have to wait months (or longer) to see the same footage.
This year, those at home are getting the VIP treatment on social media. Many studios are putting movie trailers online seconds after being shown in San Diego.
For “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” it helps to have some serious star power ahead of the footage.
It wouldn’t be a Comic-Con without superhero movies. While Marvel Studios is sitting this year out, there are still plenty of heroes (and villains) to cheer for.
And let’s not forget the King of the Monsters.
