We all know that Xiaomi is set to launch its next big phablet, the Mi Max 3, at an event in China on July 19. The specifications of the handset had already emerged in the past, giving us an idea of what this next release by Xiaomi will feature. In addition to the specs, we also saw the retail box of the device and some hands-on images that leaked online a few days ago. Well, today, Xiaomi has officially given us a first glimpse of the Mi Max 3, revealing the colour options and design of the phablet in its full glory. Here’s a sneak peak of the handset:
If we observe the design of the device, it has’t changed much over its predecessor, the Mi Max 2 ( review). The one notable change we are seeing this time is going to be in terms of imaging, as the handset will now be featuring a dual camera setup. As seen above, the device will be available in Gold, Blue, and Black colour options. It will feature a larger 6.9 inches IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Powering the smartphone is said to be a either a Snapdragon 636 or a Snapdragon 710 octa-core chipset. It might pack 4GB/6GB of RAM along with 64GB/128GB internal storage. Furthermore, on the software front, the smartphone no doubt will run Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 10 out of the box.
The dual rear-facing camera are said to feature a 12MP primary sensor, while the secondary sensor will be a 5MP module. On the front, the handset might feature an 8MP camera for taking selfies and video calling. Connectivity-wise, the smartphone should include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, GPS/A-GPS, microUSB 2.0 port, and a headphone jack. A 5500mAh battery is already confirmed to power the smartphone, with fast charging support.
Some rumours even hint that Xiaomi will announce the Mi Max 3 Pro along with this standard version. The Mi Max 3 Pro is assumed to feature the same 6.9-inch display, Snapdragon 710 SoC, 6GB of RAM, and a massive 5400mAh battery. Rest of the specifications are likely to be identical to the standard Mi Max 3. We will not have to wait very long to find out, as the Xiaomi launch event will be held on Thursday. What do think of the these above official renders shared by Xiaomi? Would you be buying the handset when it launches? We would like to know your thoughts in the comment section below.
