Les Moonves lives to fight another day.
The CBS chairman and chief executive will remain in charge of the media giant while the company investigates allegations that he sexually harassed six women over the last few decades, the New York company’s board said Monday.
The board, at a regularly scheduled meeting, took up the issues raised in a New Yorker article last Friday. In the story, six women claimed Moonves, one of the most powerful executives in Hollywood, sexually harassed them.
Two of the women said Moonves moved to ruin their careers after they said no to his advances.
The CBS board had weighed whether to sideline Moonves while it probed the allegations. The board is expected to hire a law firm this week to lead the investigations.
At the same meeting, the board said it would reschedule its annual shareholders meeting — which was scheduled to take place in Pasadena, Calif., on Aug. 10. No date or location for the re-scheduled meeting was set.
