Samsung is said to be working on an Android Go phone which is likely to be launched as the Galaxy J2 Core. The phone is said to run Samsung’s Experience UI, which is quite unlike of what the other Android Go phones came with: that is running a clean version of the Android Oreo OS.
While the company has not yet disclosed any date regarding the phone’s launch, there are rumours doing the rounds that the phone will be an entry-level device. Now, the phone’s user manual was spotted online which offer a glimpse into the physical attributes of the device.
The user manual is in Russian, which has made it harder for us to understand what exactly the phone is going to comprise of. But thanks to Google Translate, we can tell that the manual doesn’t really delve into the specifications of the device. Rather, it only gives us a glimpse of the physical attributes and a brief understanding of the software that will be on the device.
The Galaxy J2 Core is likely to have a speaker, proximity sensor, and front camera above the display. The power button is expected to be on the device’s right side. At the bottom will be the USB charging port, microphone and the headphone jack.
The Galaxy J2 Core will come with a removable back plate and also a removable battery. At the back, it is expected to have the main camera, GPS antenna, flash, external speaker and a primary antenna at the bottom. The volume keys are located on the side. The device is also said to have on-screen navigation keys.
The phone is also likely to come with support for two SIM cards. However, we don’t yet know what kind of SIM cards can go on the device.
