With that being the case, it is an exceptional achievement that the Galaxy Note 9 not only has the best display amongst Samsung devices but is the best display hands down across any smartphone currently on the market according to DisplayMate.

DisplayMate has just published its full breakdown of the Galaxy Note 9’s display which goes into a lot of in-depth detail about the 6.4-inch SuperAMOLED panel. DisplayMate calls out the exceptional performance of the panel, providing a particular compliment to the accuracy of colors, the brightness, and viewing angles.
What stands out from DisplayMate’s report is that the Note 9 panel is 27% brighter than the Note 8, which was already a pretty decent display. The display maxes out at 1,050 nits when at its peak brightness which is a bit lower than the Note 8 and S9, but when displaying an all-white image, it hits 710 nits which is what beats both. It seems Samsung has chosen to refine the display to perform better at different levels and that has enabled the Note 9 to have an overall better display than anything we’ve seen so far.
