IONIA COUNTY, MI — A 22-year-old Lansing woman died after police say her car drifted across the center lane of E. Grand River Avenue and collided head-on with a utility truck.
The woman’s name was not released.
Ionia County sheriff’s deputies said the crash happened about 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8 along E. Grand River Avenue near Ionia Road, just west of Portland.
The woman was driving a Saturn and, according to police, a witness said she failed to turn as the road curved and continued straight instead.
The Saturn crashed head-on into a westbound utility truck with two people inside, police said.
Both people in the utility truck were taken to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing for minor injuries.
