Xiaomi Mi A2 to go on sale for the first time in India starting today

Earlier this month, Xiaomi launched the Mi A2 ( review) smartphone — the successor to the Mi A1 ( review) – in India. And starting today, the smartphone is up for grabs on Amazon India website, Mi.com, Mi Home and the brand’s preferred partner stores. Buyers can choose the Mi A2 in black, blue and gold colour options.
As for the pricing, the Mi A2 retails in India at Rs 16,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model. The company has partnered with Reliance Jio to offer Rs 2,200 cashback and up to 4.5TB of extra data to the Mi A2 users. Meanwhile, Xiaomi will announce the 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM variant of the phone later this year.
Moving on to its specifications, Xiaomi ships the Mi A2 in a fully metal unibody design. It flaunts a 5.99-inch full HD+ 18:9 display, and employs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. In the camera department, the smartphone features a combination of 12-megapixel primary camera and a 20-megapixel secondary shooter with LED flash. On the front sits a 20-megapixel shooter with a dedicated soft LED flash. Powering the handset is a 3,010mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4+ fast charging technology.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 is an Android One smartphone and comes with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The handset is promised to get future software OTA updates and security patches directly from Google. Connectivity options include dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C, and A-GPS.
