30 fall sick on India flight after pilots' air pressure bungle

Thirty people fell sick on board a Jet Airways plane after the pilots allegedly forgot to switch on an air pressurization system.
New Delhi – Thirty people fell sick on board an Indian passenger plane on Thursday after the pilots allegedly forgot to switch on an air pressurization system, local media reported.
The Jet Airways flight from Mumbai to Jaipur turned back after passengers experienced symptoms including bleeding from their ears and noses.
The pilots had forgotten to turn on a switch that controls a pressurization system during the flight’s ascent, the PTI news agency reported, quoting an official from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation regulator.
MoCA has taken cognizance of the incident in flight 9W 697 earlier today and has requested DGCA to file its report immediately on the issue. The crew is being derostered. Of the 166 people on board, 30 were affected and have been given treatment.
