Houston police believe they know who shot and killed a teenage girl late Wednesday night and are on the hunt to put him behind bars.
Houston police are on the hunt for the man they suspect shot and killed a teenage girl late Wednesday night.
Irbin Vargas, 22, is accused of gunning down Lourdes Sandoval, 16, in a brazen drive-by shooting at 89 Casa Grande Drive in the Greenspoint area.
Neighbors heard gunfire and squealing tires before discovering Sandoval lying in a driveway.
Paramedics with the Houston Fire Department rushed her to an area hospital, where she died.
Vargas was identified as a suspect almost immediately, and detectives filed a murder charge Friday.
Vargas’ criminal history in Harris County includes assault and marijuana possession convictions from 2014. He’s also suspected in a hit-and-run crash in August.
