The new Google Assistant UI has the virtual helper’s logo and the “Hi, how can I help?” bubble moved up a little higher. In addition, the Google Lens and QWERTY shortcuts are reversed with the former now on the left and the latter on the right of the microphone icon.
The new camera UI makes it easier to access certain settings on the camera, including portrait mode, video mode and panorama mode, by using the settings listed right above the shutter button. Currently, Pixel users have to tap on the hamburger menu on the top left corner of the screen to access these features. The rear camera weighs in at 12.2MP with an aperture of f/1.8. There are two front-facing 8MP cameras; one has Auto Focus and an f/1.8 aperture. The other sports an ultra wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture.
We expect to see the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL unveiled on October 9th during the #madebygoogle event. The festivities will take place in New York City.
