360i announced the appointment of WeiWei Dong as group creative director.
Dong has been slated to start on October 22, and she has been partnered with group creative director Piper Hickman to lead creative for clients including Oreo, Champion, 7-Eleven, Mini USA, and others. Hickman had been added to the staff in April.
Originally from Shanghai, Dong moved to the US to work at social good startup Enso Collaborative, then worked at 72andSunny, leading creative for a variety of brands including Adidas, Cheerios and Samsung.
She had already carried with her a lengthy resume, working at TBWA Shanghai and Bates Asia, before spending six years at Wieden+Kennedy’s Shanghai office on clients such as Nike, Starbucks and Coca-Cola.
Dong said in a statement: “I’ve admired 360i’s ability to stay ahead of the curve, and their creative philosophy aligns really well with mine.
“I think a lot about ‘what’s next’, always paying close attention to craft while embracing the opportunities presented by constant reinvention. I can’t wait to join Menno, Piper and the rest of the creative team to develop industry-shaping ideas for an exciting lineup of brands.”
360i chief creative Menno Kluin added: “WeiWei’s got the type of creative vision and leadership that inspires those around her – colleagues and clients alike. Her impressive experience and global perspective will help us continue to make our work even better as we tackle a wide breadth of creative opportunities, from design and film to digital and voice.”
Dong’s addition comes as part of a steady stream of new upper-level hires for the Dentsu Aegis agency. In recent months, 360i also brought on former OMD digital and innovation head Doug Rozen as its first chief media officer.
