Apple plans to announce new iPad Pro, MacBook Air and Mac Mini at a New York event on October 30
After launching new iPhones, Apple is all set to unveil what it has been planning with its computer and tablet segment. The company is set to launch the new Mac computers and iPad tablets on October 30 in Brooklyn, New York. It will be held at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the theme of the event is “making”.
According to a Bloomberg report, Apple will launch a new iPad Pro, 13-inch laptop that will replace the current MacBook Air and new Mac Mini computers to refresh its old lineup.
The iPad Pro may launch in both sizes – 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch and is said to get a FaceID and a Type C USB port for charging and data transfer. This will be a huge shift towards a more universal standard, all mobile Apple devices have relied on lightning port till now.
But with a FaceID, Apple is looking to remove the home button and fetching a higher screen-to-body ratio with thinner bezels. As per the report, the display will not be OLED but LCD panels, the chipset used will be a variant of A12 Bionic used on iPhone XS and an updated Apple Pencil.
But the new MacBook Air is probably a more awaited product. It is said to get a higher-resolution display in a reportedly 13-inch size. It may get a new look altogether, or Apple may just refresh the innards with better and faster chipset and more recent design tech, keeping the look same as the old one.
A longer-awaited refresh would be the new Mac Mini. According to the Bloomberg report, the new Mac Mini will get new processors and features for professional users. This will be the first update to Mac Mini since 2014.
Ahead of the launch, Apple is clearly trying to hint that upcoming devices will be bringing something new to the table to allow more creative leverage. With big, colour accurate displays, clean and simple OS and fast processing speeds, Macs are widely used to create graphics, edit movies or develop software. The new devices could step-up the game and give Apple a bigger chunk of the ever shrinking PC and tablet market.
