Samsung has launched the Galaxy A6s smartphone in China, its first ODM (original design manufacturer) handset. This means that the new Galaxy A6s will be manufactured by a contract manufacturer — China-based Wintech in this case — instead of Samsung’s own factories. The new Galaxy A6s was launched alongside the Galaxy A9s, which is the rebranded version of the four-camera toting Galaxy A9 (2018) for the Chinese market. Along with this, Samsung teased the Galaxy A8s with an all-display, notch-free display at the event.
The Samsung Galaxy A6s sports a 6-inch Super AMOLED screen with full-HD+ resolution (1,080 x 2,160 pixels) and 18:9 aspect ratio and runs Android 8.0 Oreo-based Samsung Experience UI. It is powered by the octa-core 2.2GHz Snapdragon 660 processor, backed by 6GB of RAM. Buyers can choose between 64GB and 128GB storage options.
For optics, the smartphone comes with a 12MP + 12MP dual camera setup on the back, both with f/1.8 aperture. The front camera has a 24MP sensor for selfies. The smartphone has a 3,300mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor positioned on the back.
The Samsung Galaxy A6s price for the 64GB variant has been set as RMB 1,799 (~Rs 18,600), while its 128GB storage option costs RMB 2,199 (~Rs 23,200). Colour options for the handset include Black, Red, and Blue. Buyers can place pre-orders for the handset via the official Samsung China e-shop or head to online retailers such as JD.com in China.
