Ahead of the OnePlus 6T’s global debut next week, a new leak has surfaced online today, claiming to shed some light on its European pricing. As per the new leak, the OnePlus 6T will be available in three variants in Europe. The base variant of the smartphone will include 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It is tipped to be priced at 559 EUR (INR 46,700 approx.) in most European markets. The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of the smartphone will apparently be priced at 589 EUR (INR 49,100 approx.), while the top-end 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant of the smartphone will cost 639 EUR (INR 53,400 approx.). For reference, the OnePlus 6 base variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage was launched in Europe earlier this year at 519 EUR, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant was launched at 569 EUR. The 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, on the other hand, was priced at 619 EUR at launch. Most manufacturers do charge at least a slight premium for every new flagship device, so it is not surprising that the OnePlus 6T too will be priced higher than its predecessor. While it has not been confirmed yet, we do expect the OnePlus 6T to be priced higher than the OnePlus 6 in the Indian market as well. While the Indian pricing has not been confirmed yet, OnePlus has officially confirmed that the 6T will go on sale in India for the first time on November 2 on Amazon.in as well as at pop-up stores in nine major Indian cities .
The leak comes courtesy of leakster @IshanAgarwal24, who has a pretty decent track record with leaks, however, we are not completely sure that the launch pricing would be the same as what Ishan claims.
OnePlus will finally be unveiling its next Android flagship smartphone at an event in New York City on October 29 th. While the launch event was originally set for October 30 th, the company decided to prepone it after Apple announced that it too will be holding a launch event in New York City on the same day.
The OnePlus 6T will not be a major upgrade over the current OnePlus 6 ( Review) in terms of hardware, but it will come with a few new features that may make it more popular than its predecessor. One of the main selling points of the next OnePlus flagship will be the “Screen Unlock” technology. OnePlus 6T will be the company’s first smartphone to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. The smartphone will also sport a larger Optic AMOLED display than the OnePlus 6, measuring 6.4-inches diagonally with 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution. Thanks to a waterdrop notch at the top of the display, the 6T is expected to offer a higher screen-to-body ratio as well. Another key highlight of the OnePlus 6T will be its bigger 3700mAh capacity battery, which should allow it to provide more impressive battery life than its predecessor. The rest of the hardware, however, is expected to be identical. It will run on the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor under the hood and come in the same three memory configurations as the OnePlus 6. In terms of software, the smartphone will ship with Android 9.0 Pie-based OxygenOS out of the box .
