Giant Squid’s thought-provoking aquatic adventure, Abzû, is heading to the Nintendo Switch later this month.
The game industry’s mission to bring every possible game to the Nintendo Switch continues apace with news that Giant Squid’s Abzû will be released on November 29,2018.
The game is now available for pre-order via the Nintendo eShop, and includes a limited-time 10% discount.
Originally released in 2016 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, Abzû was conceived by Matt Nava, who worked on the similarly meditative PlayStation exclusives, Journey, and Flower .
Featuring a score from the Grammy-nominated, and two-time BAFTA-winning composer, Austin Wintory, the game takes players to the depths of the ocean on a journey to meet a variety of unique species and explore a mysterious, and sometimes dangerous, world.
Here’s the Nintendo Switch edition announcement trailer.
According the its press release (and who are we to argue?) the game’s name hails from an ancient Sumerian language, with AB, meaning water, and ZÛ, meaning to know. Abzû, therefore, is the ocean of wisdom. Duly noted.
Abzû will be released for Nintendo Switch on November 29.2018, priced at £14.99 in the UK and $19.99 in the US.
