A former White House aide who served in the early months of the Trump administration is reportedly set to release a tell-all memoir styled after that of former Clinton White House aide George Stephanopoulos.
Politico reports that two sources familiar with the project say that Cliff Sims, a former Trump campaign aide who joined the White House communications staff last January only to leave in May is planning a “thoughtful and introspective” look at his time in the White House.
The book, which sources told Politico Sims has been writing for months, is due to release next January and be styled after Stephanopoulos’s memoir “All Too Human,” which was criticized at the time for the scope of what it revealed about the Clinton White House.
The release of Sims’s book would come months after another White House aide, Omarosa Manigault Newman, attacked the president and his closest allies in her memoir, “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House,” as well as through the release of recordings of her conversations in the White House.
At the time, the White House sought adjudication against Manigault Newman over her book, which it said breached a nondisclosure agreement. It was unclear, according to Politico, if Sims signed a similar agreement.
White House aides told the website that they were unaware of Sims’s project when contacted by Politico. Representatives for the White House press team did not immediately return a request for comment from The Hill on whether Sims had reached out to members of the communications team for the book.
