Earlier this year, Motorola launched its first smartphone with a notch display smartphone in the form of the Motorola One Power ( review). The smartphone was launched under the Android One branding and came with stock Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. Now, it seems that an Android Pie update for the One Power is already in works. The Motorola One Power was recently spotted on the popular benchmarking website – Geekbench. While all other details of the phone are already known, what’s changed is the software version running on it – Android 9.0 Pie.
Notably, the handset maker has announced at the time of the launch that the Motorola One Power will get the latest update before the year end. It seems that the Lenovo-owned brand is all set to keep its promise. As an Android One smartphone, the Motorola One Power is entitled to receive latest and frequent stock updates directly from Google.
To recap on the spec sheet of the smartphone, the Motorola One Power with a 6.2-inch FHD+ display featuring a 19:9 aspect ratio to accommodate the notch. Notably, the Motorola One Power is the first from the brand to come with a display notch. At its core, the phone houses Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB native storage, which can be expanded further up to 256GB using a microSD card. In the imaging department, the smartphone gets a 16MP + 5MP setup on the back and 12MP selfie camera. The smartphone ships with stock Android 8.1 Oreo and draws power from a massive 5,000mAh battery.
The smartphone is being offered in a single Black hue and is exclusive to Flipkart in India. Those interested in the phone will have to shell out Rs 15,999.
