OnePlus 6T is finally official after a long wait. OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 6T in India for a starting price of Rs 37,999. The smartphone is available in two colours — Mirror Black and Midnight Black in India and globally. But, a new report now claims that OnePlus could be working on a new Thunder Purple variant of the 6T with gradient finish on the back. It is worth noting that OnePlus is yet to confirm this bit of information.
To recall, OnePlus applied the same strategy for its last two flagships — the OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 5T. The OnePlus 6 was first launched in Mirror and Midnight black, but later introduced the Silk White and Red colour variant. OnePlus also launched the Avengers Edition of the OnePlus 6. For the OnePlus 5T, the company soon after the official India launch introduced a special Star Wars Edition.
According to leakster Ishan Aggarwal, OnePlus is currently working on a Thunder Purple variant of the 6T. He posted a picture of the OnePlus 6T Thunder Purple model and the phone has been picturised with gradient finish on the back. Overall, the specs of the OnePlus 6T Thunder Purple variant is expected to sport the same specs and features like the Mirror Black and Midnight black model. The only difference will be on the RAM and storage department. The OnePlus 6T Thunder Purple variant will reportedly come with 8GB RAM and 128GB, and will be available in only one variant, as it goes for all OnePlus’ special edition phones.
As also noted earlier, OnePlus is yet to confirm the coming of Thunder Purple variant of the OnePlus 6T. For the specs, the phone will sport the same 6.41-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and a screen-to-body ratio of 86 per cent. The phone is powered by the same hardware found inside the OnePlus 6. OnePlus 6T comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. On the software front, the phone runs Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box and comes packed with a much bigger battery of 37000mah battery.
The key highlight of the 6T is that unlike the OnePlus 6, the 6T includes the fingerprint sensor inside the display instead of on the back cover. OnePlus has also ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is why the phone comes bundled with a Type-C bullets earphones. On the camera front, the phone comes with a dual camera setup on the back with a primary sensor of 16MP and secondary sensor of 20MP. On the front, the OnePlus 6T comes with a 16MP selfie shooter. OnePlus has included some new camera modes on the OnePlus 6T camera including Night Scape, Studio Lighting model, and more.
