Samsung and Verizon have announced plans to release a 5G smartphone in the United States in the first half of 2019. A proof of concept will be shown at Qualcomm’s technology summit this week.
Samsung and Verizon have confirmed that they will be releasing a 5G smartphone in the United States in the first half of next year. Though no details were provided yet, the companies will show off a proof of concept at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit which takes place this week.
The prototype device will feature Qualcomm’s X50 LTE modem for 5G speeds, and it will run on the company’s upcoming flagship chipset, which is expected to be the Snapdragon 855 .
