Some of the most exciting things in the arts today wouldn’t be happening without Kickstarter. It’s a platform and crowdfunding tool that has funded over 100,000 projects with the help of over 14 million backers. One of the biggest beneficiaries of this platform has been the comics community. Kickstarter has helped bring older comics and graphic novels back in print, print webcomics, launch new series, and even help launch and sustain publishers like Iron Circus Comics and Space Between Entertainment.

Comics writer and former comics journalist Joe Glass has returned to Kickstarter with his latest comics project, Acceptable Losses. Prior to this project, Joe has mostly been known for his series The Pride, a diverse and inclusive LGBT superhero comic with a large list of collaborators including some of the best known LGBT creators in comics. Acceptable Losses switches gears to a dark revenge tale revolving around a US military agent that examines the endless cycle of violence around the war on terror. Featuring art by Danny Flores, colors by Moose Baumann, and letters by Michael Stock, this 32 page one-shot will showcase Joe’s writing abilities beyond The Pride. Backing at the $4 level gets you the digital copy and $6 gets you the physical copy. Reward tiers go up to $94 and include pins, sketches, original comic pages, and more!
