A Google spokesperson has confirmed to 9to5Google that it will be discontinuing the Chromecast Audio. Originally first brought up by Redditor u/ joliolioli after his order was canceled, an order which he originally placed before Christmas, the end was nigh for when Google cut the price of the device to $15 from Black Friday till the end of February, a move likely intended to clear stock out.
