Gaslighters/narcissists always contradict themselves eventually — even if it means putting themselves at legal or financial risk. An example can be found in President Trump’s speech on February 15,2019. Trump declares a national emergency over border security, defying even his own government’s statistics .
Have national emergencies been called before? Yes, but a national emergency was never declared by a president after he didn’t get what he wanted from Congress. Until now. This is a classic gaslighter/narcissist move — when someone doesn’t give you something you want, you go nuclear. You don’t care how much disruption it causes or how it is unethical or possibly illegal. You are going to make someone pay.
One of the issues with this «pick up my toys and go home» tactic? Gaslighters/ narcissists always trip themselves up in the end.
