Before meaningful games have been played, forecasts have prognosticated the playoff outlooks for each team. What often goes less noticed is how efficiently each team has spent their payroll going into 2019. Who is spending the most money for each projected win? Who the least?

MLB Spring training is finally underway! Spring springs eternal, with every team technically even in the standings. Before meaningful games have been played, forecasts have prognosticated the playoff outlooks for each team.
While there are still many free agents available to sign and roster spots up for grabs in Spring Training. Forbes did a team-by-team round-up in this article. From a quantitative perspective, Baseball Prospectus revealed their ever-popular and always-questioned PECOTA projections for each division. The Astros, Yankees, Indians, and Dodgers finish tops on paper, and the Orioles, Marlins, Tigers finish bottom three.
Efficiency Overview
What often goes less noticed is how efficiently each team has spent their payroll going into 2019. Who is spending the most money for each projected win? Who the least?
The 30 teams are spending $3.677 billion so far on total payroll, an average of $125.6MM. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains.
