“Here’s how Samsung’s latest flagships set themselves apart from one another”
Samsung Galaxy S10 series has been among the most eagerly awaited flagship phone lineups in the past few years. The Galaxy S10 series breaks ground on several frontiers: it uses a punch-hole design to eliminate the notch, offers the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and comes with some great optics solutions to deliver professional-grade images from mobile phones. And, this year, the company has launched three smartphones as part of its flagship lineup instead of the usual two, namely Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10e. While the three smartphones share a lot of features and hardware, there are still several distinguishing factors to separate them. We take a look at everything that differentiates the three smartphones, including the price and specifications.
Samsung Galaxy S10e price starts at $749.99 (about Rs 54,000) for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, while its 8GB + 128GB option will cost $849.99 (about Rs 60,000). Similarly, the Galaxy S10 price for the 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 512GB variants are $899.99 (about Rs 64,000) and $1,149.99 (about Rs 82,000), respectively. The Samsung Galaxy S10+ starts at $999.99 (about Rs 71,000) for the option with 8GB + 128GB, while the 8GB + 512GB variant is set at $1,249.99 (about Rs 89,000). Then there’s the 12GB + 1TB option that costs $1,599.99 (about Rs 1.13 lakh). Positioned above this variant is the Ceramic version of the Plus model, priced at EUR 1,260 (about Rs 1.01 lakh) and EUR 1,600 (about Rs 1.3 lakh) for the 8GB + 512GB and 12GB + 1TB variants, respectively.
Let’s start with the design of the latest flagships, which for the most part, is consistent across the three models. In fact, between the Galaxy S10+, the Galaxy S10, and the Galaxy S10e, the only real difference is in the size, with the Plus variant towering over the other two models by some margin. Other than that, all three smartphone sport a glass-sandwich design, which is held together by a metal trim. The handsets feel extremely comfortable to grip too, thanks in no small part to their curvy backs and chamfered edges.
