Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney confirms that Apex Legends hasn’t cut into Fortnite’s player base, as the company nears another major milestone for its player count.
Fortnite has been the most popular game in the world for about a year now, and no title has been able to come close to challenging Epic Games’ battle royale title. Many gamers thought that Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment’s answer to the battle Royale genre, may have had a chance to dethrone the title given its explosive popularity, but it appears that it hasn’t had the effect that many people presumed it had, despite claims that Apex Legends is on track to beat Fortnite.
Speaking in an interview, Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, stated that Apex Legends hasn’t cut into the Fortnite player base.
