According to multiple outlets on Tuesday evening, a reported shooting at University of North Carolina, Charlotte put the campus into lockdown. Per Reuters, a suspect has since been taken into custody, but UNCC is still encouraging students to “secure themselves” immediately. Officials have not said if there are any other suspects believed to be at large.
Shortly following the lockdown, Mecklenbeurg Emergency Medical Services confirmed to NBC Charlotte that two people died and at least four additional people were wounded in the shooting; two of those people have life-threatening injuries and two have non-life-threatening injuries, the news network reported.
