The deranged gunman who allegedly massacred 12 people at a Virginia Beach government building was a longtime city employee who served at times as a public relations rep for its utilities department.
DeWayne A. Craddock, a 40-year-old engineer who worked for the Virginia Beach water and sanitary sewer services for 15 years, was identified by police Saturday.
He died following a “long gun battle” with cops Friday after he allegedly fired indiscriminately at people inside a Virginia Beach municipal building, Virginia Beach Police Chief James Cevera said.
