A recent report has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will not be censored in Australia, despite the country’s notoriously strict classification procedures.
The report originally appeared on GameSpot, where CD Projekt Red’s Kuba Kutrzuba confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 has been rated as 18+ in Australia.
Back in February, we reported that Cyberpunk 2077 could run foul of Australian censors due to its inclusion of two things: drug use and sexualised violence. The former will appear in abundance – after all, you can’t really have Cyberpunk without uppers – but the latter won’t be “tasteless.”
“We’re not going to water it down but I don’t think there are any situations where you can take any real street-named drug and get a reward from it,” producer John Mamais told ONMSFT in February.
