Stir-crazy Iowans might be disappointed by the forecast for this Memorial Day weekend.
While it won’t be a complete washout, Iowans should be prepared for heavy rains and thunderstorms across the state. The National Weather Service forecasts rain and periodic thunderstorms over the long weekend and into next week. Temperatures could also reach the mid-80s in the Des Moines metro area, according to their forecast.
Storms will have the most impact Sunday afternoon, as some parts of the state could see severe thunderstorms with heavy rain, large hail and high wind speeds.
