The latest Xbox One Free Play Days promotion features two amazing games. Pack a spade, a rubber duck, and maybe a ICA Proximity Concussion Device.
This week’s Xbox Free Play Days titles are among the best games we’ve played in the last four years.
Stardew Valley, the bucolic lifestyle and farming simulation from Eric Barone, is already the stuff of legend. It’s simple to start, but imaginative, flexible, engrossingm and increasingly difficult to stop playing. If you’re burned out on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it’s the perfect replacement.
IO Interactive’s Hitman 2 is another game to offer players scope and space to express themselves through gameplay, although it’s not quite as relaxing. The game continues the studio’s impressive run with a series of inventive missions set in locations ranging from Miami to Mumbai.
Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can download and play both games for free until 11:59 pm on June 28,2020.
It’s unlikely you’ll see everything Hitman 2 and Stardew Valley have to offer in four days, so some digital game discounts are available. If you continue playing, all achievements and saved progress will transfer over.
If you already subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, check out the four new games added to the service this week.

Found it interesting, entertaining, useful, or informative? Maybe it even saved you some money. That’s great to hear! Sadly, independent publishing is struggling worse than ever, and Thumbsticks is no exception. So please, if you can afford to, consider supporting us via Patreon or buying us a coffee.

The first Night City Wire live stream from CD Projekt Red reveales a new trailer and showcases new Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay.
Today’s broadcast led with the announcement of Cyberpunk Edgerunners, a new anime from Studio Trigger, creators of Little Witch Academia. It’s in production now and coming to Netflix in 2022.
The stream also featured in-depth look at Cyberpunk 2077’s Braindance gameplay mechanic. If you find surveillance modes entertaining, this one is for you. Players can relive the actions and memories of other characters. You can speed things up to get to the good bits, or rewind the interactive footage to make sure you don’t miss the obvious clues delivered by NPCs. The mode will apparently allow players to explore story-related themes like childhood trauma, religion, and other philosophical ideas.
You can watch the whole stream again on the studio’s Twitch channel.
Slightly more interesting is the new Cyberpunk 2077 trailer, which showcases a mission from the game’s prologue. It looks every bit the sci-fi Saints Row we’ve been waiting for.
