Oakland County health officials confirmed two more people have tested positive for the coronavirus after visiting a downtown Royal Oak sports bar.
The two new cases are individuals unrelated to one another, but both reported being at the Fifth Avenue bar in Royal Oak, one on Saturday, June 20, and the other on Saturday, June 27.
The new cases come a week after county health officials reported three people who were at the bar on the evening of Friday, June 19, had tested positive for the virus. None of the five individuals knew each other and the only commonality is they all visited Fifth Avenue.
With the first reported cases, health officials said they received calls reporting that Fifth Avenue was overcrowded.
A news release about the original three cases advised individuals who visited the bar to monitor themselves for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 because of potential exposure.
