Durham, N. C. — An Emmy-award winning Durham musician is pushing for more representation of Black fathers in the media.
He’s using a song in hopes of making a difference.
Durham musician and UNC professor Pierce Feelon described his song as a dynamic blend of hip-hop, jazz and electronic music.
The proud father of two crafted the lyrics to celebrate Black fathers, who he said aren’t always highlighted in the media
„This is just another attempt of mine to make sure that Black folks are represented, and to make sure that Black fathers are shown in all our glory,“ said Freelon.
