When Geoff Keighley promised us a Summer Game Fest, he really meant the whole damn summer, didn’t he? This thing just keeps going on and on. Honestly, if we never had to see or hear from Geoff ever again, we would be very happy. But there are nice things coming out of the Summer Game Fest, at least. Like this. Presently, Xbox is having an [email protected] demo event, where 73 weird and quirky indie games all have free demos available to play. These aren’t all polished demos from already-released games, though. This is your opportunity to get in on the ground floor with some games that are still in development. That means you might run into some bugs and issues, but also, you get to discover brand new stuff while it’s still in development. You get to be like a games journalist, but you don’t have to work horrifically long hours for next to no money! There are some real gems in the list, too. Some big names jump out, like the Destroy All Humans! remake, but you should take this opportunity to chance your arm on some things you may not have heard of. We heartily recommend Cake Bash, Cris Tales, Curved Space, Haven, Road to Guangdong, Swim Out, and of course, the mighty Tiny Hawk’s Pro Skater Skatebird. Here’s every game included in the [email protected] summer game demo event: The event is on now and runs through until July 27, 2020. So go fill your boots, play some demos of games you wouldn’t normally consider, and most of all, have fun. (And if you see Geoff Keighley in the street, throw something at him.) Found it interesting, entertaining, useful, or informative? Maybe it even saved you some money. That’s great to hear! A lovely bit of time spent outside, on a beautiful Mediterranean island, getting back to nature. But that’s obviously not a good idea at this precise moment in time, in spite of everything reopening. (No, we don’t think those cheap flights to the Balearic Islands are a good idea. Just because something is open doesn’t mean you have to go.) One alternative is to use video games to get that escape. There’s the wonderful Animal Crossing: New Horizons, of course, but that can be a bit of a chore. There’s always the danger that turns into The Wolf of Wall Street over turnip prices. A beautiful new island adventure, then, a tale of getting back to nature and reconnecting with wildlife could be exactly what the doctor ordered. Enter Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, a dreamy new title from the developer of Monument Valley and Assemble With Care. Alba is a little girl with a big heart! ☀️ Experience a magical Mediterranean Summer filled with friendship, family and nature. ???? Alba: a Wildlife Adventure is coming to PC, consoles & Apple Devices. When Alba visits her grandparents on a Mediterranean island, she is ready for a peaceful summer of wildlife exploration with her friend Ines. But when she sees an animal in danger, she realises she needs to do something about it!” Beautiful island environments? Check. Chill outdoorsy gameplay? Check. Positive interactions with animals? Check.
