It’s been 26 years since the launch of Battletoads, but Microsoft is planning to revive the series with a new entry that promises to contain lots of beat ’em up action and a wild story.

The revival arrives on Aug.20 for the Xbox One, Windows PCs, and Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft announced Friday—26 years after the original Battletoads game came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The classic beat ’em up title lets you take control of a toad warrior from outer space, who’s on a mission to defeat the evil Dark Queen and her minions. The game’s original developer, Rare, followed up the title with a few other entries. But after 1994, the Battletoads series remained pretty dormant until 2018 when Microsoft teased a modern revival of the game.
