One Direction sent fans into a frenzy with its first tweet in two years: an announcement celebrating the group’s 10th anniversary.
“Tomorrow! You and me got a whole lot of history #10YearsOf1D,” One Direction shared Wednesday on Twitter and Instagram. A simple black-and-white graphic was also posted, with the words “10 Years of One Direction.”
One Direction alum Liam Payne commemorated the anniversary with a screenshot of the first text he ever sent about the group: “I’m in a boyband,” he wrote to his father on July 23,2010.
“What a journey,” the singer, now 26 and a father, tweeted Thursday morning. “I had no idea what we were in for when I sent this text to my Dad ten years ago at this exact time the band was formed. Thanks to everyone that’s supported us over the years and thanks to the boys for sharing this with me #10YearsOfOneDirection”
