Through two games, Doncic has scored 70 total points against the Los Angeles Clippers’ vaunted defense.
Luka Doncic is not having any problem adjusting to the rigors and demands of the NBA playoffs. In fact, he is excelling in the pressure as the spotlight shines brightest. In Game 2, Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks notched their first win of their first-round series against the favored Los Angeles Clippers,127-114. It was also the first playoff victory of Doncic’s young career. What he has done in those two games is historic. As the series progresses, it will become even more apparent just how good of a player he is. Doncic has tallied a combined 70 points in the first two games of the series. He scored 42 points in the series opener, the most ever by a player making his playoff debut, and added 28 points in Game 2. His 70-point outburst is the most points ever scored in their first two playoff games since the NBA and ABA merger in 1976. The only player to record more points through two career playoff games is George Mikan. He totaled 75 in 1949. Not one to dwell on individual accomplishments, he barely acknowledged his achievement after the game.
