FIFA 21 is just days away, with Watch Dogs: Legion, Cyberpunk 2077, & Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla ahead.
We’re past the halfway mark in 2020 already (phew) but there’s still plenty to look forward to for gamers: Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and FIFA 21 are all on the way in the second half of this year. And that’s not even mentioning the launch of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, the next-gen consoles that are going to transform the industry and usher in a new level of graphical fidelity when they launch in November. Here are all the biggest games that are on the way, whether they’re coming out this year or later, along with trailers, release dates, and pre-order info where we have it. That’s right, FIFA 21 is coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series X – along with just about every other platform you can game on. And if you buy it on a current-gen console, you can even upgrade to next-gen for free. Each character’s stats will be influenced by their backstory, and you’ll be able to recruit and play as any NPC in the game. The follow-up to 2019’s Man of Medan will adopt the same interactive narrative structure, with the same pair of online and offline multiplayer modes too. Platforms: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, StadiaRelease date: 10 November 2020 (12 November PS5)Pre-order: Amazon, Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed looks set to be one of the first games to hit next-gen consoles, with the Viking-set Valhalla launching across basically every platform except the poor Nintendo Switch. Set between Norway and Britain, you’ll play a Viking warrior trying to settle down and survive against the English, with new features including developing your settlement, raiding, and customising raiders to send into your friends’ games. It’ll be a launch title for the PS5, though in an odd move it’s also coming to the PS4 too, so there’s no need to stress about a console upgrade if you can’t afford one yet – or simply can’t find PS5 stock to order. Known about for years but only revealed for the first time at E3 2018, Cyberpunk looks like one of the most ambitious RPGs ever made, combining dense progression systems, branching narratives, and fast-paced FPS combat into one sprawling whole.
