President Donald Trump was the subject of The Simpsons’ most pointed political joke to date, and the show’s executive producer has shared some insight into why the segment came to be. During Sunday’s “Treehouse of Horror XXXI” special, Homer Simpson is seen at the polls on Election Day when he proclaims that he’s undecided as to who to vote for when it comes to president. His daughter, Lisa, comes in and asks her father how he can be undecided after what’s happened in the past four years. A list of reasons not to re-elect Trump are then shown on the screen for the viewers to read. “We have the most polarizing president there’s ever been,” executive producer Al Jean told Give Me My Remote recently, when discussing the thinking behind the segment.
