2020 Catholic Central graduate, parents killed in Lyon plane crash

Dawson, David and Michelle Compo died in the crash.
A 2020 Detroit Catholic Central graduate and his parents have been identified as the three individuals killed in a Lyon Township plane crash Saturday, Jan.2. Dawson Compo and his parents, David, and Michele, were only a half-mile from their destination of Oakland Southwest Airport when their small plane crashed into a home in the 57000 block of Dakota in the Orchards of Lyon subdivision. The occupants of the home escaped uninjured as the home and plane burst into flames. Detroit Catholic Central posted a message to Facebook on Sunday morning noting their deep sadness over the loss of Dawson and his parents. According to the post, Dawson had participated in cross country and band at DCC and had a bright future. « As a member of the Class of 2020, Dawson helped set an incredible example of how to persevere through challenging times, and we will continue to lean on our faith and each other for support in this tragic time, » the post read, continuing that DCC’s prayers are with the family and all impacted by the loss.
