Fire hydrant struck in East End causes water main break, road closures

A car hitting a fire hydrant caused the break, trapping another vehicle and displacing four families.
A 60-inch water main break on Riverside Drive in Cincinnati’s East End affected water pressure in Downtown Cincinnati Saturday afternoon, according to Greater Cincinnati Water Works executive director Cathy Bailey. « There is a water main break that is impacting that area [Central Business District], » Bailey wrote on Twitter. « Crews have been dispatched and supervisors have and are arriving to assess and discuss options. » Greater Cincinnati Water Works has issued a boil water advisory for 758-766 Steiner Street and 3406-3648 Hillside Avenue.
