The youngest Best Actress Emmy winner for HBO’s controversial “Euphoria” series, Zendaya reteams with writer-director Sam Levinson for “Malcolm & Marie,” a two-character art film that just might win her a Best Actress Oscar nomination. Born Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman in Oakland, Clif., she’s bonded with Levinson, speaking with him regularly. “Throughout this quarantine Sam’s acted like a creative lighthouse for me to find some kind of hope. Then came this concept, ‘Could we shoot something in quarantine?’ “Sam started coming up with some very interesting ideas. Some of which will never see the light of day!” she said, then laughed. “That’s how he works.” Soon she got the call. “What if,” Levinson asked, “we get two people, stripped everything away and shoot it in black-and-white ourselves? It’s a couple’s piece that spans a few hours and we shoot in one location.
