We got up at 6 a.m. today for this? Sadly so. The latest PC graphics card launch was like all the rest: A lot of disappointment.
(Credit: AMD) Don’t even bother. AMD’s latest graphics card, the Radeon RX 6700 XT, was impossible to buy during today’s launch. And to add insult to injury, the retail prices for the 6700 XT—which is supposed to start at $479—soared as high as $829. Our first attempt to buy the product focused on AMD’s official online store, which was supposed to sell the card starting at 6 a.m. PST. However, the company’s website kept displaying a “503 Service Temporarily Unavailable” error, likely due to a surge in user traffic. Sigh… (Credit: AMD) It wasn’t until 6:58 a.m. when AMD’s online store finally showed the 6700 XT. But by then, the product was listed as out of stock.
