June 7 (UPI) — Two express trains collided early Monday in southern Pakistan, killing at least 37 people and injuring 64 others with expectations the death toll will rise as a rescue operation is underway to extract people from the wreckage, authorities said. Umar Tufail, a Ghotki police chief, confirmed the death toll to Pakistan’s Geo News, stating rescuers were still attempting to access compartments mangled in the crash that occurred hours earlier when the two trains collided.
