Reddit is updating its iOS app with a greater emphasis on short-form video content.
Reddit is reportedly taking a cue from TikTok by updating its official iOS app with a new feature that collects short-form videos from various subreddits into one easy-to-navigate feed. TechCrunch reported that Reddit’s new feed will prioritize videos posted on subreddits to which the user is subscribed, but it will surface content from related communities as well, probably because many of the platform’s communities aren’t primarily focused on short-form videos. The video feed is said to offer a familiar Reddit experience by making it easy for people to upvote, downvote, comment on, give a virtual “award” to, and share content. But the feature also emulates TikTok in that swiping up on a video will dismiss it so another one can take its place.
