Sunni Welles, the child actress who went on to a quiet singing career in Southern California, died Monday from lung cancer. She was 72. In 2015, Welles said her life was upended when Bill Cosby sexually assaulted her at age 17. Welles began her career as a child actress, appearing in “Leave it to Beaver” and “My Three Sons.” Born Nancy Kay Rihl in Caracas, Venezuela, she began using her stage name in her teens. She met Cosby on the set of “I Spy,” when he was 29.
