A new river of lava stemming from the La Palma volcano is threatening the area beneath the massive mountain on the Atlantic Ocean Island. Over 1,000 buildings have already been damaged or completely destroyed by the river of lava that has flowed down the sides of the Cumbre Vieja ridge toward the western shore of the Spanish island.
