Supreme Court rethinks Boston marathon bomber’s death penalty verdict

The U.S. Supreme Court is considering reinstating the death penalty handed to Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, whose actions led to the death of three people and more than 260 injuries in 2013. Conservative justices seemed to find favor with the Biden administration’s argument Wednesday that the Boston federal appeals court which vacated the 28-year-old convict’s sentence last year did so in error. That court had ruled evidence was withheld showing Tsarnaev was heavily influenced by his older brother, who died in the aftermath of the deadly attack at the world famous race’s finish line.
